Eurocord-Slovakia operates as a public cord blood bank and registry in Slovakia. In 1999 first cord blood collection from voluntary donors was performed. International guidelines are employed for donor selection, testing and criteria for cord blood release for transplantation.

According to the BMDW Annual Report 2010 Slovak public cord blood registry currently maintains the highest average total nucleated cells count (TNC) in its cord blood units in comparison to other registries - the median TNC count after processing is currently over 160x107.
