Eurocord-Slovakia operates as tissue establishment based on the license from ministry of health of Slovak Republic. Processing facilities are equipped with the state of the art technology for processing, cryoconservation and storage of hematopoietic cells.

Facilities were established in 1997 with the support of grants from the EU and Netherlands. The first cord blood units from volunteer donors were processed in 1999 and were subsequently submitted to the international database BMDW.
